Trifextra – “hypnagogia”

This weekend’s Trifextra challenge:  Write a horror story in 33 words, without the words blood, scream, died, death, knife, gun, or kill.

Hypnagogia
She bolted upright, heart racing. She recognized the contours of her bedroom in the darkness. “Nightmare. Only a nightmare,” she panted.  “Wrong,” replied an unknown voice as the cold steel touched her neck.
