The Queen Victoria

Cape May is famous for its historic, gingerbread houses. Originally private homes, many have been converted to Bed & Breakfast inns. You can’t help but feel as if you’ve stumbled into a fairy tale when you stroll around. It really is something special. Here’s a small taste of what the town has to offer.

  1. Beautiful pictures. Please make a reservation for me at whichever property has the earliest availability. Oh, and on a side note, you really should come to New Orleans. Vintage architecture is the NORM.

I was in New Orleans about 10 years for work, so I really didn’t get to see it in a way I want to. Another place for the ever expanding Travel List!

  2. Ooh…lovely painted ladies. Reminds me of walking around Saratoga Springs, NY and Port Huron, MI. My sorts of towns. Thanks for the great shots!

  3. Wonderful photos. I really, really wish I was there. Is it crowded at all, or would you say this is the perfect time of year to go?

John, those are beautiful examples of Victorian architecture. I live in a ‘Queen Anne’ here in militaria, and I have to say that the only thing I’d hate worse than living in a huge, old Vic would be to have to paint one’s exterior.

But pictures of them, I’m totally cool with.

Excellent stuff. Not much us history folks like better than stepping into the past for a bit. You had a full day of it.
