There’s an adage that says when you do not know what to photograph, photograph flowers. Occasionally a negative connotation is associated with this. As if photographing a beautiful, amazing creation of Mother Earth is a cheat, an easy way out for those who do not have the drive or creativity to seek out something else. What a bunch of horseflooey! I do not say this because today I am “taking the easy way out.” I say it because to my way of thinking it embodies a pretentious point of view we would all be better off without, one which assumes something which has been photographed by everyone who has ever picked up a camera has run its course, that the worth in photographing it has been exhausted. If anything, these types of things are most worthy of being photographed. You can never have too much beauty in your life. At least I think so.
These photos were all taken this month at a local rose garden. I hope they bring you a bit a joy and warm thoughts of summer.

Sometimes when I look at our drought-stricken yard it’s hard to believe that some things still grow. Beautiful pics!
