Apparently you need to post things like this to be truly embraced by the blogging community. So in an effort to get a full embrace, I give you 25 random things about me. Warning: Hide the pets, shield the children.

1 – On the Tuesday I was born the Milwaukee Braves, behind future Hall of Fame southpaw Warren Spahn, beat the San Francisco Giants 2-1 at Milwaukee County Stadium. Both Willie Mays and Henry Aaron went hitless in four at bats.
2 – I attended some form of Catholic school from 1st grade through my sophomore year in college. As a result I do not follow any organized religion. (more…)

September 2011

Today is Red’s 14th birthday. While part of me finds this incomprehensible, another larger part pretty much takes it in stride. After all how different was she this morning from yesterday? From last week? How different will she be tomorrow? Hardly at all, yet the changes occurring in her all the time are profound and everlasting. As they are in all of us.

I serve on the Board of my community Association. I’m generally not a joiner so it’s surprising that seven years down the road I’m still at it. When I initially became involved I was unemployed and motivated by two things. (1) The need to expand local networking options. After schlepping to Manhattan for 14 years I had no desire to resume that commute and, being relatively new to the area, I hardly knew anyone. (2) Shortly after (more…)
