The deserted beach in Wildwood

I’ve tagged along with the lovely Ms. Trask to the southernmost southern part of New Jersey while she attends a conference. We’re camped in the pretty town of Cape May which has the distinction of being designated a National Historic Landmark. Not just a few of the cool buildings, of which there are plenty. The entire freakin’ town. So while she is busy doing her conference thing I’m going to enjoy the weather, soak in the scenery, kick back, do some writing, catch up on reading, take lots of photos, and reeeeeeeeeeelax.

I wandered around for a few hours earlier this evening while she attended a meeting of some sort. Somehow that doesn’t seem fair. I want to be in a meeting instead of getting out in the refreshing sea air! I guess I’ll manage, although it won’t be easy. Anyway, here’s some of the stuff I snagged.

These chairs line the outside of the almost 200 year old hotel at which we're camped.

I think this theater is closed for more than just the season. It's on the boardwalk in Wildwood.

I’ll second the props on the beach photo. Simple but somehow compelling.

Generally I don’t like splitting landscapes 50/50, but I thought this looked nice. Thanks!

Wonderful pictures, particularly the first one which is quite stunning. I love the straight forward composition, and even the horizon cutting the picture in two equal parts works perfectly in this case. And of course the light is amazing. I hope you survive being out there instead of inside a conference!

  4. I grew up in Philly and went to Atlantic City in the summer. For some reason, I was only in Cape May one afternoon in all those years. I must go.

    Love them all, John. Nice.

I like the Strand picture, because we used to have a Strand here in MN.

    Outstanding. Good day Nonoy Manga

  8. There is something about rocking chairs lined up that makes me want to sit, rock, and read! Nice.

  9. You lucky dog! I love Cape May! We stayed at an awesome B&B last time we were there – the Albert Stevens Inn. Heavenly breakfasts. I’m so jealous you’re there. Which beach is that at the top?
