There’s a bit of pre-spring restlessness bouncing about my head. The sky is gray, the air continues to hold a noticeable chill, and buds have not quite budded. Yet I know winter’s end is within reach. It’s right there, just beyond my outstretched fingers. Granted, this New Jersey winter has been mild. But it’s still winter. And gray. And chilly. I figure the best way to remedy this is to dive into the archives and brighten up the mood with photos, photos bursting with summer! Take solace, my fellow Northern Hemispherers. Soon, very soon, the sky will clear, the air will warm, and the buds will bud. And then we won’t need to fall back on photographs. We can simply step outside and take a stroll.
I miss summer! And I LOVE the cow picture!

I was looking at your pictures at Asbury Park from 1981. Oh my goodness look at the cars! In 85 my friends and I would go out then drive down there to watch the sun come up then we’d stop and have breakfast. 🙂 I forgot all about that.

Unfortunately by ’85 Asbury was steep decline, but the beach has always been so nice.

I know. Did they ever restore it? I haven’t been there in eons.

It’s coming back very very slowly. At this rate it may be someplace worth visiting by 2112.

Yah. It was a dilapidated mess for a while there. We went to the Stone Pony a couple times too. man… Talk about reminders of the past right? (i.e., your toy story the other day and how we remember things from way back when we forgot.)

You know… I’m upset by the lack of snow here in Jersey. I know people hate it, but I feel quite deprived this year.

Oh man, the snow of the past several years certainly made up for the lack of it (so far) this year.

Yah. That was some back breaking shoveling. On my street I always park on the side the snow plow shoves all the snow because it’s a slight hill and if I park on the other side and there’s ice, I can’t get off my block without going through a pair of tires. Anyway… So the snow, with a good storm is usually piled almost half way up my car door and about 3/5 – 3 feet away from the car itself. THAT’s a lot of shoveling! LOL 🙂
I don’t like the work that comes with it? I do love how everything is all clean for a little while.

I almost turned the air conditioner on yesterday as it was in the low 80s. The azaleas are in their glory and the trees are getting green. I wish it was a bit cooler. I have a feeling it will be a long hot summer. Your photographs are luscious. The light is incredible in the last one.
